The IPO’s String Ensemble is excited to offer a commissioned work written just for us about… Issaquah!

“The Water Bird’s Call” was composed by Emmaline Jackson, an emerging young woman composer who won the IPO’s first Young Composer Competition.

Issaquah’s 2022 Make Music Day will be the world premiere of “The Water Bird’s Call.” Led by the IPO’s Conductor Emeritus Duane Bowen, the String Ensemble will also be performing selections from Bach, Mozart, the African American composer Florence Price, the Beatles, Ashokan Farewell, and the Internet sea-shanty sensation “The Wellerman.”
